Rocking The Stage: Michael Navvaro is Stacee Jaxx

An electrifying tribute to the iconic music of the 1980s, the Tony-nominated ROCK OF AGES plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT through February 4th.

Making an iconic return to the Hickory Community Theatre stage as bona fide rock bad boy Stacee Jaxx is Michael Navarro.

Originally hailing from The Sunshine State, Navarro currently lives and works in Boone. Navarro's previous HCT roles include Jean-Michael in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, Lord Farquaad in SHREK THE MUSICAL, and Spike in VONYA, SONYA, MASHA & SPIKE. When not working or performing, Navarro is a fan of nature who can be found hiking in the nearby mountains, or (he claims) weaving baskets under water.

For Navarro, there was no question about auditioning for ROCK OF AGES. "Ya boy wanted to rock!" He has enjoyed hamming it up as the self-absorbed Stacee Jaxx, and has especially delighted in sharing the stage with all of the cast and crew that make Hickory Community Theatre so special to him.

All performances of ROCK OF AGES this weekend are sold out.

Visit hickorytheatre.org, or call 828-328-2283, for more information. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

ROCK OF AGES is rated R for strong language and adult situations.

ROCK OF AGES is produced in association with Lowes Foods, Alex Lee and MDI. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
