A resilient young woman sets out to discover her past with the help of two con men, in an enchanting adventure that journeys from post-Revolution Russia to Paris in the Belle Époque. The Broadway smash hit ANASTASIA continues its run in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from December 8th through December 16th.
Returning to the HCT stage in this stirring musical is Ensemble member Harley Buff.
A lifelong Hickory resident, Buff is a dual-enrolled student at Challenger Early College High School and Catawba Valley Community College, and is working toward earning an Associates Degree in Fine Arts. Her impressive list of activities at Challenger include her involvement in Prom Committee, as well the TV Production and National Beta clubs, and playing on the school volleyball team. In addition, Buff is a member of the City of Hickory Youth Council. Phew.
Among Buff's performance credits at Hickory Community Theatre are JUNIE B. JONES: JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, and SNAZZY RAZZY GETS WHAT SHE WANTS. She most recently appeared in THE TEMPEST for The Green Room Community Theatre, for which she has also performed in FINDING NEMO JR. and TROUBLING TIMES ON MOUNT OLYMPUS. Other credits include ALADDIN JR. at Theatre Statesville, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. at Old Colony Players.
For Buff, performing in ANASTASIA at HCT is "another opportunity to creatively express myself and form relationships with people of similar interests." A big fan of musicals, Buff is thrilled to be involved in the many lavish dance numbers and gorgeous songs found in the show.
Performances of ANASTASIA are Fridays and Saturdays, December 8th through December 16th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, December 10th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, December 14th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.
Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
ANASTASIA is rated G. All audiences admitted.
ANASTASIA is produced in association with Catawba Valley Health System. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 75th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Green Park Dentistry. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
