"Do you know the combination?""I knew it when I was in the front."

51 years since it made its Broadway debut, A CHORUS LINE continues to challenge us to see the humanity inside every performer—the hope, anguish, commitments and sacrifices that go into every production.

Hickory Community Theatre is proud to present the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning hit musical A CHOURS LINE, with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. It finishes its run in the Jeffers Theatre September 10 — 12.

Making her Hickory Community Theatre debut as the cool, confident and sometimes caustic Sheila in this production, is Angelica Rae.

A resident of Troutman, Rae originally hails from California's famed Bay Area. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University, while also honing her acting and dancing in area studios and arts centers. Though this is Rae's first show at HCT, previous credits include theatrical productions of THE WIZ, FOR COLORED GIRLS and GROOVIN as well as other live performance special events. She has also appeared in film, music videos, and industrial films.

Rae is grateful for the camaraderie she has found at HCT as she steps boldly into this next creative chapter. She also appreciates the opportunity to be part of a production so informed by the intimate revelations and universal challenges of other artists.

"I moved to NC from Los Angeles to be with family and rediscover who I am in this season of my life. I chose this show because I have lived similar experiences to the characters and so the story/stories being told resonate with me."

"I love Sheila's commitment to always show up for herself despite all her reasons to give up (age, childhood, being misunderstood, etc). Through the sarcasm and hard exterior, there's a bravery and softness to her that makes you want to see her win."

Performances of A CHORUS LINE are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 10th through 12th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students 18 and under. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.

A CHORUS LINE is produced in association with Catawba Valley Health System.
