Dance with Destiny—Ava Regalado Plays Lori in A CHORUS LINE

51 years since it made its Broadway debut, A CHORUS LINE continues to challenge us to

see the humanity inside every performer—the hope, anguish, commitments and sacrifices that go into every production.

Hickory Community Theatre is proud to present the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning hit musical A CHOURS LINE, with music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. It plays in the Jeffers Theatre August 28 through September 12.

Returning to the Jeffers, and fresh from her Kay Award win, is Ava Regalado as Lori, the dance captain who must manage dancers, choreography and interpersonal politics.

Hailing from Denver, NC, Regalado is a graduate of North Lincoln High School (Go, Knights!) who is currently studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Education from UNC-Charlotte. When not working as a dance instructor at Tutu Ballet School, studying, or performing, Regalado enjoys photography and videography, reading, hanging out with her cats.

Regalado made a magical Hickory Community Theatre debut as Little Red Riding Hood in last season's production of INTO THE WOODS, for which she earned a Kay Award for Outstanding Newcomer. Other credits for Regalado include THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, ANASTASIA, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, PIPPIN, and HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION at North Lincoln High School, LEGALLY BLONDE at Green Room Community Theatre, and DISASTER! at Lincoln Theatre Guild.

Performances of A CHORUS LINE are Fridays and Saturdays, August 28, 29, September 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7:30pm; Sundays, August 30 and September 6 at 2:30pm; and Thursday, September 10 at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students 18 and under. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.

A CHORUS LINE is produced in association with Catawba Valley Health Systems. Hickory Community Theatre is a funded affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
