Dance With Destiny: Jared Garcia plays Al in A CHORUS LINE

"I'm not too bright, but I'm not too dumb. And, eh, I'm not too talented."

Such is the candor of Bronx-born Al DeLuca, one of the many unforgettable characters chasing their dreams of stage success in A CHORUS LINE. The Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning hit musical finishes its crowd-pleasing run at Hickory Community Theatre this weekend, September 10 — 12.

Making his Hickory Community Theatre debut as Al in this production is Jared Garcia.

Garcia relocated to Denver, NC from New York State with his family six years ago. He attended North Lincoln High School (Go, Knights!), where he appeared in INTO THE WOODS and received a Blumey Award for Best Actor.

"I like how Al and his wife share many moments together," says Garcia of his character in A CHORUS LINE. And while Garcia is similarly candid in describing himself as "the actor most likely to mess up choreo," he appreciates the tight-knit community and rewarding experience of his first production at HCT.

Performances of A CHORUS LINE are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 10th through 12th at 7:30pm.
