Part dance audition, part personal confession. A CHORUS LINE has been razzle-dazzling audiences with its groundbreaking fusion of choreography and character since the show debuted on Broadway in 1976.

Featuring music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban, Hickory Community Theatre is proud to present A CHOURS LINE. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and nine Tony Awards, A CHORUS LINE finishes its run in the Jeffers Theatre September 10 — 12.

Making her HCT regular season debut in this production is Kait O'Brien as one of the story's Cut Dancers.

Born and raised in Hickory, O'Brien is a student at Saint Stephens Lutheran School. As a student of Hickory Ballet & Performing Arts, she has previously appeared at HCT in their joint productions of SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL and BEETLEJUICE JR. Other HBPA credits include THE NUTCRACKER at The Old Post Office Playhouse, PETER PAN JR at J.E. Broyhill Civic Center, and THE LIGHTNING THIEF at The Old Rock School. Other area credits include FUN HOME for the Lenoir-Rhyne University Playmakers,  ANNIE at Foothills Performing Arts, and THE MIRACLE WORKER at Theatre Statesville.

“I love being a part of A CHORUS LINE because it has so much dancing and energy," says O'Brien about her regular season debut in this HCT production. "But you also get to know the characters and why performing means so much to them. I can relate to that. This show at HCT has been rewarding because of the amazing direction and talented cast."

Performances of A CHORUS LINE are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 10th through 12th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.

A CHORUS LINE is produced in association with Catawba Valley Health System.
