Dance With Destiny: Lisa Rhyne plays Bebe in A CHORUS LINE

"Now, 'different' is nice, but it sure isn't pretty. Pretty is what it's about."

Nervous newcomer Bebe is one of the many dancers putting their bodies and souls to the test in A CHORUS LINE. The Tony winning musical plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT September 10 — 12.

Making her Hickory Community Theatre debut in this production as determined-but-doubting Bebe is Lisa Rhyne. A Huntersville resident, Rhyne provides certified personal training and nutritional instruction through her company Balanced with Lisa.

Rhyne has studied at the Broadway Dance Center, Open Doors Studio and Dancer's Edge. In additional to her experience dancing in New York City, Rhyne's performing credits are SWAN LAKE, SLEEPING BEAUTY and COPELIA with Edge Performing Arts, as well as such area dance and character work as Carowinds Theme Park and Sigmon Theatrical.

"This is my first time at this theatre, but A CHORUS LINE has always been one of my dream shows," says Rhyne of her involvement in this production. "It is one of my favorite shows that I always knew I wanted to dance in!"

She went on to add that she enjoys, "the advanced dance choreography and ability to expand my skills with singing and acting!" Which will be important during and after this show's run, as Rhyne confesses to being "the actor most likely to save myself from injury by balancing in the oddest positions."

Performances of A CHORUS LINE are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 10th through 12th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students 18 and under. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
