“Why should I not have what is mine?”

A tale of grief and vengeance unfolds in shadows where the line between the living and the dead grows thin.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK brings gothic horror to the Jeffers Theatre beginning October 17th.

Jennifer Owen appears as The Woman in Black, stepping into a role that blends mystery and menace. A native of Banner Elk, Jennifer now lives in Lenoir and works in mental health services. She earned an MS in Child Development with concentrations in Special Needs and Administration.

Her past theatre credits include Dracula (Avery County High School), Alice in Wonderland (Avery County High School), and Mary Poppins (Lees-McRae Summer Theatre).

When asked about her part in the show, Jennifer said: “I’m enjoying the challenging of a lead role.”

Performances of THE WOMAN IN BLACK are October 17 through November 1; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm and Thursday, October 30 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students/youth 18 & under, available at hickorytheatre.org or by phone at 828-328-2283.
