“I was just doing my job.”
Old habits die hard — especially when your line of work’s a dead end.
Hangmen runs November 7–22 in the Firemen’s Kitchen.
Christopher Honsaker brings sharp wit and gravitas to the role of Harry Wade. A retired professional actor and longtime resident of Hickory, Chris has been part of the local theatre community for more than two decades.
His performances have earned him four Kay Awards for acting and a Metrolina Theatre Association Award for Best Actor. Past roles include Equus (Alan Strang, Foothills Performing Arts), Arsenic and Old Lace (Mortimer Brewster, New York City), The Music Man (Professor Harold Hill, Hickory Community Theatre), and The Lion in Winter (Henry II, Hickory Community Theatre).
“I’m a fan of the author,” Chris says. “Harry’s tendency to hold forth — and his insecurity and need for self-aggrandizement — make him fascinating to play.”
Performances of Hangmen are November 7-22; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 2:30 pm and Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students. The $12 price is also valid for youth, but this show is considered suitable for ages 18 and up. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets online or call the box office at 828-328-2283.
Hickory Community Theatre is a Funded Affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The 77th season is supported by The City of Hickory, A Cleaner World, Shurtape Technologies, Acuna & Acuna Dentistry and BelleAge.
