"I'm slow with nuts."

In a world of hangmen, Mooney might be the most dangerous kind of man — the one who enjoys the talk.

Hangmen runs November 7–22 in the Firemen’s Kitchen.

Reed Williams returns to the Hickory stage as Mooney, a role he describes as “challenging and complex — one that stretches what I’m comfortable doing.” A writer with OpenText and a Hickory native, Reed has spent more than two decades moving between professional life and creative work. He holds an M.A. in Cinema and Media Studies from UCLA and has performed in numerous productions with Hickory Community Theatre and other regional companies.

“I love the author’s other work,” Reed says. “I jumped at the chance to be in one of his shows. The community part of HCT — meeting new people, working with friends, coming together — that’s the best part.”

Performances of HANGMEN are November 7-22; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm and Thursday, November 20 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students. The $12 price is also valid for youth, but this show is considered suitable for ages 18 and up. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets online or call the box office at 828-328-2283.
Hickory Community Theatre is a Funded Affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The 77th season is supported by The City of Hickory, A Cleaner World, Shurtape Technologies, Acuna & Acuna Dentistry and BelleAge.
