Heaven On Their Mind: Peter Liuzzo is Annas in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

Filled with song and spectacle, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's hit musical JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR examines the passion, perils, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ's final days. It finishes its run in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT this weekend, April 17th through April 19th.

Making his HCT debut as Annas, consigliere to Caiaphas, is Peter Liuzzo.

Originally hailing from New York, Liuzzo currently calls Mooresville, NC his place of residence, and Scratch Kitchen his place of work. When working or on the stage, Liuzzo enjoys hanging out with friends and supporting theatre.

His previous theatre credits include Oliver in PUFFS, Roger in RENT, and two runs of THE LAST FIVE YEARS, which he also directed and produced. In 2023, he received the Metrolina Theatre Association Award for Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of Gabe in NEXT TO NORMAL.

"It's my dad's favorite show," Liuzzo says of his being drawn to audition for JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, "and I thought it would be fun to do. Anna is kind of slimy and evil and that is fun to play."

Performances of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 17th through 19th, at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is rated PG-13. Some material may not be appropriate for children under 13.
