An invading alien hive mind has turned the citizens of Hatchetfield into singing and dancing "zombies". Now, it's up to a scrappy band of misfits to stop the show-stopping apocalypse from taking over the world.
From Starkid Productions, creators of A VERY POTTER MUSICAL and THE TRAIL TO OREGON!, comes the sinister musical sensation THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS. Hilarious, horrifying, and heartbreaking, THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS finishes its run in the Jeffers Theatre this weekend.
Making his Hickory Community Theatre debut in this production is Ensemble member Dylan Day. A Statesville resident, Day's love of theatre began at Statesville High School (Go, Greyhounds!) in productions of INTO THE WOODS JR., LUCKY STIFF, ADDAMS FAMILY JR., and THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. Recent area appearances include DRACULA and FOOTLOOSE at Theatre Statesville.
“I auditioned for this show because it was the first musical my wife showed me when we first met and I fell in love with it. It’s great to be in the ensemble because I get to be in all the best songs!”
Performances of THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 12th through 14th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.
Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS is rated PG-13 for adult language and cartoonish violence.
The Hickory Community Theatre’s 76th season is sponsored by Protection Products, Inc. and LifeRootz. HCT is a Funded Affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives additional support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
