'You think you can just show up and take everything from me?'
Star senior Rachel is seeing daggers after an ambitious freshman lands the role of Lady Macbeth. When Rachel and friends host the student for a night of gossip and drinks, something wicked will come of it. Inspired by Shakespeare's iconic tragedy, MACBITCHES plays in the Firemen's Kitchen May 1st - 16th.
Returning to the HCT stage as Rachel, the leading lady in danger of losing her crown, is Kay Award winner Hannah Pratt.
A Lincolnton native now living in Hickory, Pratt holds a degree in English Secondary Education & Theatre from Appalachian State University. A teacher at North Lincoln High School, Pratt and her students have been received multiple Blumey Awards for such productions as PIPPIN, ANASTASIA and INTO THE WOODS, and nine 2026 Blumey nominations for their recent production of HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION. When not teaching or performing, Pratt enjoys cooking, reading and gardening.
Pratt's recent roles at Hickory Community Theatre include Mary Magdalene in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, and as an Ensemble member in WAITRESS. Other HCT credits include RIDE THE CYCLONE, part of the Pamela Livingstone Outstanding Ensemble in POTUS, and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, for which she received a Kay Award for Outstanding Featured Performer. Pratt has also received awards for performances in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and ROCK OF AGES at Lincolnton Theatre Guild. She has directed HELLO, DOLLY! at Green Room Community Theatre, where she also appeared in 9 TO 5 and MAMMA MIA!
"As a Shakespeare enthusiast, I love the realness of the depictions of college age girls," says Pratt, who also credits HCT for its willingness to produce shows that keep the spotlight firmly on its actors. "Rachel is driven, ambitious, and knows her worth... even if it's detrimental."
Performances of MACBITCHES are Fridays and Saturdays, May 1st-16th at 7:30pm; Sundays, May 3rd and May 10th at 2:30pm; and Thursday, May 14th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. Due to adult language and content, the production is recommended for ages 18 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
MACBITCHES is produced in association with Pretty Chicken Productions, with additional support from a Friend of the Theatre.
