This Magic Moment: Harley Buff plays Steward & Sleeping Beauty in INTO THE WOODS

"Don't be ridiculous! I'm not giving up my life for anyone!"

The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make. From Broadway legends Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, the Tony Award-winning muscial INTO THE WOODS finishes its spellbinding run at Hickory Community Theatre this weekend, June 18th through 20th.

Returning to the HCT stage in this production as the Steward and Snow White, is Harley Buff.

A lifelong Hickory resident, Buff is in her freshman year at Gardner-Webb University, where she is working on Bachelor's degrees in Communications/Public Relations, and Theatre Arts. There, Buff has already appeared in productions of PUFFS, FORESTS IN THE NIGHT, and A NEW LEVEL OF INTIMACY.

Buff's impressive list of performance credits at HCT include REMARKABLE RITA AND THE GALLANT THIEVES, JUNIE B. JONES: JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER, SNAZZY RAZZY GETS WHAT SHE WANTS, ANASTASIA, and SHE KILLS MONSTERS (YA EDITION). She has also appeared at Green Room Community Theatre in THE TEMPEST, FINDING NEMO JR., TROUBLING TIMES ON MOUNT OLYMPUS, and SHREK THE MUSICAL JR. Other area credits include FOOTLOOSE and ALADDIN JR. at Theatre Statesville, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR. and WONKA JR. at Old Colony Players, and ALICE at CVCC .

"I have always loved INTO THE WOODS," says Buff. "It has been a dream show for me for so long. I love the musical, the characters, and the whimsical storytelling."

Performances of INTO THE WOODS are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 18th, 19th and 20th at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
