"Days are made of moments,
All are worth exploring.
Many kinds of moments-
None is worth ignoring."
Fateful decisions and dysfunctional families abound in INTO THE WOODS, the Tony-winning musical in which familiar fairytale characters must make hard choices, and join forces, to write a new "ever after" for themselves.
From Broadway legends Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, INTO THE WOODS plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from June 12th through June 20th.
Returning to the Pamela Livingstone Stage in this production, as both the wily Wolf and Cinderella's capricious "Prince Charming," is Hayden Waugh.
A Mooresville resident, Waugh holds a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Media from Appalachian State University. He works as a Communications and Marketing Operations Specialist for Trane Technologies, and is a Middle School Leader at Storyhill Church. He enjoys baking, reading, and playing tennis in his free time.
Waugh made his Hickory Community Theatre debut as Dr. Pomatter in last season's production of WAITRESS. Other are credits include THE MUSIC MAN for Piedmont Players, GODSPELL for Lee St. Theatre, and 9 TO 5, LEGALLY BLONDE, and THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE for Davidson Community Players.
Performances of INTO THE WOODS are Fridays and Saturdays, June 12th through June 20th at 7:30pm; Sunday, June 14th at 2:30pm; and Thursday, June 18th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
INTO THE WOODS is produced in association with Catawba Valley Health Systems. Hickory Community Theatre is a funded affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Season 77 support is provided by the City of Hickory, A Cleaner World, Shurtape Technologies, Acuña & Acuña Dentistry, and BellaAge.
