"And when you're his wife
You'll have such a life
You'll never need to walk!"
Winner of three Tony Awards when it debuted in 1988, INTO THE WOODS brings the timeless tales of the Brothers Grimm to life in an epic fairytale musical about wishes, family and the challenges we face from the choices we make.
From famed Broadway duo Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, INTO THE WOODS finishes its run in the Jeffers Theatre, June 18th through 20th.
Returning to the Pamela Livingstone Stage in this production as Lucinda, the stepsister who proves that suffering for love and fashion ain't all it's cut out to be, is Rian Rogers.
A Hickory resident, Rogers enjoys singing, theatre, baking, reading, and winning spelling bees. Among her first appearances at HCT were CLEVER CLEVER KATYA, MATILDA, and A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Rogers then landed the sweet, sweet role of Charlie Bucket in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. She then followed that up with plenty of singing and dancing as an Ensemble member in HAIRSPRAY. Other area credits include ELF, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, and ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA at Green Room Community Theatre.
Rogers remains grateful for the sense of community and accomplishment she finds from being involved at HCT.
Performances of INTO THE WOODS are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 18th, 19th and 20th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
INTO THE WOODS is produced in association with Catawba Valley Health Systems.
