Chaperone Confidential: Hannah Nuhfer is Kitty

Brimming with screwball comedy and show-stopping song and dance, Hickory Community Theatre proudly presents THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, playing in the Jeffers Theatre December 9th-17th.

Making her Hickory Community Theatre debut as goofy leading lady-wannabe Kitty is Hannah Nuhfer.

Raised and still residing in Lincolnton, Nuhfer earned a degree in English Secondary Education & Theatre from Appalachian State University. When not teaching and running the Drama Club at North Lincoln High School (Go, Knights!), Nuhfer enjoys cooking and hanging out with friends. (Maybe feeding said friends from time to time?)

Though this is Nuhfer's first show at Hickory Community Theatre, she's been delighting area theatre audiences for years. She has appeared in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at Little Theatre of Gastonia. She has also performed in 9 TO 5 and MAMMA MIA! at The Green Room Community Theatre—where she appeared in their production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, and recently directed HELLO, DOLLY!

Given her familiarity with the show, it's no surprise that Nuhfer was eager to perform again in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. "I LOVE this show," she says. "Also, so many of my dear friends are in it." Nuhfer expresses tremendous respect for Hickory Community Theatre's diverse offering of plays and musicals. "It's refreshing to have a theatre produce shows for their actors."

Performances of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE are Fridays and Saturdays, December 9th through 17th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, December 11th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, December 15th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is rated PG.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is produced in association with Shurtape. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
