Chaperone Confidential: Meet MacKenzie LeCroy as Ensemble & Featured Dancer

A humorously heartfelt send-up of musical theatre’s Golden Age, Tony Award-winning THE DROWSY CHAPERONE plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT December 9th-17th.

Making a dance-filled HCT debut in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is Ensemble member and Featured Dancer MacKenzie LeCroy.

Originally from Wilmington, LeCroy is a recent transplant to Hickory along with spouse Nathan Ahlgrim (who recently made his HCT debut in THE LIFESPAN OF A FACT). LeCroy, a dentist with McKinney Graham Dental Arts, studied at UNC Chapel Hill and the UNC Adams School of Dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society, and the Foothills Dental Continuum. When not helping the world smile through her work, LeCroy also enjoys pottery, cooking and hiking.

Though LeCroy hasn't performed since her time in Wilmington, for her THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is a dream-come-true opportunity to return to the theatrical stage...and make the world smile through her art. "I love any show that lets me dance, and honestly any show that Sutton Foster has been in."

LeCroy genuinely appreciates both the variety of shows produced at HCT, and her newfound creative community. "This is my first time [at HCT] and everyone has been so warm and welcoming."

Performances of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE are Fridays and Saturdays, December 9th through 17th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, December 11th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, December 15th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is rated PG.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is produced in association with Shurtape. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
