“He was particularly small man, with an extraordinary domed head and a sickly gray pallor whenever the woman was mentioned.”

A lawyer haunted by the past begins to tell his chilling tale.

Step into the haunting — THE WOMAN IN BLACK arrives at the Jeffers Theatre on October 17th.

Steve Schreur takes on the role of The Actor, embodying multiple characters with dramatic intensity. Originally from Huntersville, Steve is a retired IT Project Manager who holds a BBA in Management from Texas Tech University.

An experienced performer, his recent theatre credits include Titanic (Captain Smith, Lee Street Theatre), Legally Blonde (Professor Callahan, Porch Productions/Blumenthal), Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Gaston, Lee Street Theatre), Jesus Christ Superstar (Pontius Pilate, Hickory Community Theatre), and Rumors (Officer Welch, Theatre Charlotte).

When asked why he chose this show, Steve said: “I’ve loved this show since I first read it 12 years ago. It has such dramatic intensity and I get to play multiple characters.”

Performances of THE WOMAN IN BLACK are October 17 through November 1; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm and Thursday, October 30 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students/youth 18 & under, available at hickorytheatre.org or by phone at 828-328-2283. The show is suitable for ages 13 and up.
