That Which Hath Made Me Bold: Lizzie Raymo plays Cam in MACBITCHES

"You’re not a prude. You just have boundaries. And boundaries are a good thing to have."
When an upstart freshman is cast in a production of Macbeth, what starts as a celebratory party bubbles over with the toil and trouble of creative competition in a toxic academic world. Proof that there's equal drama off stage and on, MACBITCHES continues its run in the Firemen's Kitchen at HCT, May 8th through May 16th.
Making her Hickory Community Theatre debut as Cam, the theatre student who finds herself stranded in supporting roles, is Lizzie Raymo.
A lifelong Hickory resident, Raymo is a first year student at Catawba Valley Community College, and an employee at Bubble House. An International Thespian Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society alum, Raymo is a self-described "actor most likely to bust out into song." When not studying, working or performing, Raymo uses her free time to grow her skills as a singer, writer, and SFX/theatrical makeup artist.
While a student at Fred T. Foard High School (Go, Tigers!), Raymo appeared in such productions as ALL TOGETHER NOW, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, TRACKS, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, TWELFTH NIGHT, RADIUM GIRLS, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. Encouraged by her CVCC professor to audition for MACBITCHES, Raymo appreciates the opportunity presented by her first HCT experience. "I’ve never performed with them, but I have seen a couple shows and it seems like they always have a lot of fun. Cam doesn’t really feel like a character, she feels like a real person."
Performances of MACBITCHES are Fridays and Saturdays, May 8th-16th at 7:30pm; Sunday, May 10th at 2:30pm; and Thursday, May 14th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for youth and students. Due to adult language and content, the production is recommended for ages 18 and up. Tickets are available at hickorytheatre.org or by calling 828‑328‑2283.
MACBITCHES is produced in association with Pretty Chicken Productions, with additional support from a Friend of the Theatre. Hickory Community Theatre is a funded affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Season 77 support is provided by the City of Hickory, A Cleaner World, Shurtape Technologies, Acuña & Acuña Dentistry, and BellaAge.
