“I did not believe in ghosts.”

What begins as a simple legal matter spirals into an encounter with forces beyond comprehension.

Prepare yourself — THE WOMAN IN BLACK opens October 17th in the Jeffers Theatre.

Trenton Stiles plays Kipps, a role that requires agility, imagination, and trust in the audience’s imagination as much as his own. A Morganton native, Trenton is currently studying Theatre at Catawba Valley Community College, where he is a member of the Drama Club. By day, he works as a barista for Target/Starbucks.

His most recent stage credit is Alice at CVCC, in which he tackled multiple roles including the Mad Hatter, Caterpillar, the Minstrel, and Alice herself.

Asked what excites him most about this production, Trenton said: “The small cast as well as the reliance on the audience’s and actor’s imaginations really intrigued me and seemed like a fun challenge.”

Performances of THE WOMAN IN BLACK are October 17 through November 1; Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:30pm and Thursday, October 30 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for students/youth 18 & under, available at hickorytheatre.org or by phone at 828-328-2283. The show is suitable for ages 13 and up. The performance on Saturday, November 1st will include American Sign Language interpretation.

Hickory Community Theatre is a Funded Affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives sustaining support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. The 77th season is supported by The City of Hickory, A Cleaner World, Shurtape Technologies, Acuna & Acuna Dentistry and BelleAge.
