Hickory Community Theatre's Ghost Light series returns with a staged reading of Emlyn William’s classic British thriller NIGHT MUST FALL on Monday and Tuesday, September 16th & 17th at 7:30PM in the Council Chamber.
Filled with psychological twists and turns, and a healthy dose of class humor, NIGHT MUST FALL follows wealthy widow Mrs. Bramson, who spends her days criticizing her niece, Olivia, and their house servants. That world is turned inside out by the charming Dan, who endears himself to Mrs. Bramson but causes Olivia to be concerned about Dan’s true intentions—and possible connection to the murder of a local woman.
NIGHT MUST FALL was first performed in London in 1935, and on Broadway in 1936. It was performed in 1950 at Hickory's City Hall by Hickory Little Theatre, now Hickory Community Theatre.
The reading represents the return of HCT’s Ghost Light series of staged readings, which will present new, classic and under-served works to live audiences, and solicit feedback in order to explore those pieces for future production consideration.
HCT Guild member Candi Ford-Snow will be directing a cast that includes:
Dorothy Best as Mrs. Bramson
Kaylyn Hall as Olivia Grayne
Justin Wilson as Dan
Angie Gragg as Mrs. Terence
