Meet the MEMPHIS cast: Ensemble member Amanda Foster


Inspired by actual events, the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical MEMPHIS kicks off Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season, now through September 10th.


Returning to the HCT stage in MEMPHIS is Ensemble member Amanda Foster.


Foster attended Catawba Valley Community College, where she received an Associates in Arts Degree in Music and Theatre Performance. She is currently working on a Bachelor's Degree through Appalachian State University.


Foster previously appeared at Hickory Community Theatre in HAIR and THE WIZ. Other area credits include THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL at The Newton Performing Arts Center, and 9 TO 5 at The Green Room Community Theatre. Foster is grateful to HCT for the opportunity to appear in MEMPHIS, and to the cast and crew making this such an enjoyable experience.


Performances of MEMPHIS are Fridays and Saturdays, September 2nd through September 10th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, September 4th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, September 8th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.


Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.


Due to the continued risk of COVID-19 in Catawba County, and in accordance with the latest guidance from the CDC, the Hickory Community Theatre encourages patrons to wear a mask or other face covering while inside the building.


MEMPHIS is rated PG-13 for adult language. Audiences are also advised that there is other language particular to the time which may be upsetting.


The HCT’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. MEMPHIS is supported by the United Arts Council of Catawba County through the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from the State of North Carolina and from the National Endowment for the Arts. The City of Hickory Community Relations Council is an Associate Producer.
