Pure Imagination: Reed Williams is Mr. Beauregarde & Ensemble in CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

A scrumdiddlyumptious new musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic novel, featuring original music and songs from the 1971 film, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY plays at HCT December 6th—December 14th.

Returning in this production as Mr. Beauregarde and Ensemble member, is Kay Award Winner Reed Williams.

Having relocated to Hickory after a spell on the West Coast, Williams—who holds a Masters Degree in Film Studies from the UCLA—works as a copywriter for OpenText. In his free time he enjoys model building and playing guitar.

Williams recently appeared at HCT as the conniving Sciuridae in THE SQUIRRELS. Prior to that he appeared as Shreddy Eddy in AIRNESS, for which he received a Kay Award for Outstanding Performer in a Play. Other credits include THE SECRET GARDEN for HCT, SEUSSICAL for Creative Arts Show Time, and NOISES OFF for Empress Theatre.

Williams is delighted to be back having fun at HCT, where he appreciates the people, the show selection, and their forgiveness for him being "the actor most likely to break the set."

Performances of CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY are Fridays and Saturdays, December 6th through December 14th at 7:30PM; Sunday, December 8th at 2:30PM, and, Thursday, December 12th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY is rated PG. Some material may not be suitable for children. Parental guidance is suggested.
