Rocking The Stage: Meet Ensemble member Holli Armstrong

A rock 'n' roll romance about a small-town girl, a city boy, and the power of dreams, the Broadway hit ROCK OF AGES plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from January 27th through February 4th.

Hitting you with her best shot in her return to the Hickory Community Theatre stage is Ensemble member Holli Armstrong.

A Hickory resident and graduate of Fred T. Foard High School (Go, Tigers!), Armstrong currently works as a Personal Enrichment Coordinator at Western Piedmont Community College. Armstrong has been actively involved in area theatre for over a decade. She has performed at HCT in MACBETH and THE PIRATE QUEEN. Other area credits include CYRANO DE BERGERAC and THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME at Old Colony Players, STEEL MAGNOLIAS, MARY POPPINS and AS YOU LIKE IT at The Green Room Community Theatre, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS at Lenoir-Rhyne University, A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Theatre Statesville, and CAROLINA PUMPKINS SPELLTACULAR with Sigmon Theatrical.

When not doing theatre, Armstrong pursues a passion for performance through her cosplay interests—dressing up and attending conventions as famous historical, fictional and pop cultural characters. She is grateful for the chance to "get out of my comfort zone" in ROCK OF AGES. It's the kind of opportunity for creative growth she appreciates from all of the shows at Hickory Community Theatre.

Performances of ROCK OF AGES are Fridays and Saturdays, January 27th through February 4th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, January 29th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, February 2nd at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

ROCK OF AGES is rated R for strong language and adult situations.

ROCK OF AGES is produced in association with Lowes Foods, Alex Lee and MDI. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
