Everything seemed normal in the city of Hatchetfield. Until...people began singing...and dancing. Just like that, a musical pandemic is sweeping the entire city. Now, it’s up to an average guy (who doesn’t like musicals) and his friends to save humanity from a musical apocalypse.
You'll laugh! You'll scream! You'll never look at musicals the same way again! From Starkid Productions comes the hit musical horror-comedy, THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS, now playing in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT, September 12th through September 14th.
Making her HCT debut as the coffee-slinging-but-not-afraid-of-singing Emma Perkins is Andie Thomas. Originally hailing from Fayetteville, Thomas graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English/Creative Writing. She now works at ASU, as an Administrative Support Assistant to the English Department Chair and faculty.
"Hickory Community Theatre is a beautiful space," says Thomas, who is thrilled to be sharing the stage with cast member and husband Justin Thomas.
Performances of THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 12th through 14th at 7:30PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.
Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
THE GUY WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS is rated PG-13 for adult language and cartoonish violence.
The Hickory Community Theatre’s 76th season is sponsored by Protection Products, Inc. and LifeRootz. HCT is a Funded Affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives additional support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
