Meet the Memphis Cast: Ensemble member Dior Scott

A Tony Award-winning musical about the transcendent power of music and love, MEMPHIS opens Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th, now through September 10th.

Returning to the HCT stage for this production is Ensemble member Dior Scott.

Originally from Philadelphia and now calling Granite Falls her home, Scott is an actress, entrepreneur, student and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society member.

Scott's most recent performance was as Macy in THE CAKE at Hickory Community Theatre. Other HCT credits include Ruth in A RAISIN IN THE SUN, and Effie in DREAMGIRLS. Area theatre credits include Pearl in THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL (B Street Theatre) and Sebastian in THE LITTLE MERMAID (The Green Room Community Theatre).

While Scott lists canine ambassador Sam as her favorite thing about HCT, she also relishes the chance "to grace the stage again with my friends" in MEMPHIS, especially with its vibrant choreography.

Performances of MEMPHIS are Fridays and Saturdays, September 2nd through September 10th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, September 4th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, September 8th at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
