A scrumdiddlyumptious new musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic novel, featuring original music and songs from the 1971 film, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT December 6th through December 14th.
Returning to HCT as Jerry Jubille, gonzo journalist of all things chocolate, is Kay Award Winner Cleve Williams.
Having retired from service in the US Air Force, Williams left California and returned to the Hickory area. Now back at his "hometown theatre," Williams most recently appeared as squirrel patriarch Scurius in THE SQUIRRELS. Before that he played Facebender in AIRNESS, for which he received a Kay Award for Outstanding Supporting Performer in a Play. Other HCT credits include ROMEO AND JULIET, SHADOWLANDS, and another Kay Award-winning performance in WIT. He has also appeared in BEAU JEST and WHO'S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD WOLF at CVCC, and in DEARLY DEPARTED at The HUB.
Williams, who you may find randomly rollerskating in the rain, is grateful for all of the fun he gets to have in this production, and for the community vibe that he loves and lives into at Hickory Community Theatre.
