EXIT Interview: Ethan Fite as Simon

A deliciously dark comedy about domestic revenge, the power of friendship, and the eternal wisdom of Jimmy Carter, EXIT PURSUED BY A BEAR finishes its run in the Firemen's Kitchen at HCT this weekend, May 11th, 12th & 13th.

Give me an "F-I-T-E"! What does that spell? FITE, FITE, FITE! So say it loud as we welcome Ethan Fite back to the HCT stage in the role of cheerleading confidante Simon.

Originally hailing from Houston, Texas, Fite currently resides in Granite Falls. He recently said "Thanks a latte!" to his job at Starbucks and now works at Hickory Community Theatre as Assistant to the Artistic Director. When not performing or working behind the scenes, Fite can be found creating content for his Tik Tok followers, as well as living into his unofficial title as "World's Best Grandma".

Fite most recently appeared at Hickory Community Theatre as Franz in ROCK OF AGES. Before that he made his HCT debut as Lady Macduff/Menteith in MACBETH, and was a member of the stage crew for THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. Other area credits include Victor in CABARET at Theatre Statesville, as well as Mr. Pascal in FROM THIS DAY FORWARD and Lingere in CYRANO DE BERGERAC at Old Colony Players.

Fite finds much to cheer about in EXIT PURSUED BY A BEAR—from Simon's confidence and loyalty to the play's overall message of women's empowerment, to its unique ability to bring serious issues to light through high-octane humor. He is grateful to be part of the HCT community, and hopes that you will be rooting for this production as much as he is.

Performances of EXIT PURSUED BY A BEAR are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 11th through May 13th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

EXIT PURSUED BY A BEAR is rated R for adult language and subject matter.

EXIT PURSUED BY A BEAR is produced in association with Ken Wilkinson and Allen Wood, III. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
